Construction began on this railroad in 2001 after the removal of the Cascade & Pacific Bellingham Division. The Everett, WA area was selected because of the variety of routes created where the east/west and north/south mainlines meet at Everett Jct. The east/west mainline from Mukilteo to Lowell Jct is represented and is dispatched using a CTC block signal system. The mainline north is currently under construction and will be dispatched using a combination of CTC and ABS block signal systems. Train control is furnished by CVP's Easy DCC and dispatching is handled from a hand-operated CTC panel. Trackwork uses code 83, 70, and 55 rail. Turnouts are Central Valley kits, hand laid, and Atlas code 83. Delta Jct features hand crafted operating double-head semaphore signals built using scratch-built polyurethane parts, brass tubing, with photo etched ladders and signal blades from Free State Systems. Three-color block signals are hand crafted using LED's and polyurethane castings, brass tubing, and photo etched brass ladders from Free State Systems. Train detection is provided by Rob Paisley's VT-5 Dual Detector circuitry. |
